The monster is not the one you expected
Check the lobby's Monster setting and the run summary. Do not infer the selected enemy from a similar silhouette or sound alone.

Official AI update · dated encounter evidence
The current official Roblox description names both Locust and Boiled AI as improved. A dated exact-game lobby visibly offers The Locust and The Boiled One in its monster selector, but no official speed, detection, spawn, attack, or hiding changes are published. Use the live lobby selection and treat older survival timing as needing a retest.
What each source can support
| Subject | Confirmed | Observed once | Not established |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Locust | Current official description names an AI improvement. | A September 2 lobby visibly selects The Locust; dated runs show pursuit. | Speed, sight range, hearing, spawn, damage, safe loops, or hiding rules. |
| The Boiled One | Current official description names Boiled AI improvement. | Visible as a lobby monster option; one exact-game recording identifies it during a Backrooms run. | Spawn map, attack pattern, audio meaning, detection, speed, or mode restrictions. |
| Multiple threats | No current rule published. | Players in one dated recording discuss two threats during a run. | Whether two can spawn by setting, difficulty, player count, or update rule. |
This is a conservative run-recovery workflow, not a claim about exact AI detection or guaranteed safe spots.

Current-version checks
Check the lobby's Monster setting and the run summary. Do not infer the selected enemy from a similar silhouette or sound alone.
The official description says both AIs improved. Treat the failure as a current observation and stop presenting the older spot as guaranteed.
Record difficulty, lights, map, mode, and stamina state. One chase cannot prove that speed or sight range changed.
The official product description only says it indicates where the monster is. Range, interface, refresh behavior, and supported enemies still need direct testing.
Publication gate
A video uploaded August 26 includes an “ALL JUMPSCARES” chapter at 06:10 and links the correct game. It predates the current Locust/Boiled AI update, has no subtitles, and has not been cross-checked against current encounter states. It remains a research lead rather than an indexable page.
